It is a sentient being that will not understand why it is once again being uprooted from its home. Nor will it understand that its family welcomed it into their home and then tired of it as they would another toy. When you invite a dog into your family, invite it as a real family member, not a passing fancy or a conversation piece…
Count on having your greyhound for another ten years. Count on spending a lot of money on food and veterinary bills. Count on spending every day feeding, walking, and cleaning up after your dog. Count on making sacrifices, whether it be chewed shoes, soiled carpets, or compromised vacations.
